Air volume is measured with the legs on the fans fully extended, so that the propeller is elevated or raised up off the ground. Legs should ALWAYS be extended on VENTRY Fans when they are in use! All the way is best, but 6 inches at minimum.
CFM stands for cubic feet per minute. The metric equivalent of CFM is m3/hr (cubic meters per hour) and is calculated by multiplying the CFM value by 1.69875.
Air volume of VENTRY Fans is verified by THRUST. Please see our webpage (click here) about thrust and why, because of Newton’s Third Law of Motion, thrust is an easy and accurate way to verify any fan’s performance.

OSHA standards prohibit worker exposure to more than 50 parts of carbon monoxide gas per million parts (ppm). (Source: OSHA Carbon Monoxide Fact Sheet from osha.gov, retrived July 29, 2010. CO levels on all VENTRY Fan models are well below this level.
*The last column titled CFM divided by HP is a simple calculation to compare efficiency. It is the CFM value divided by the horsepower of the motor, to show how efficiently the propeller is using the power. Wheels may increase fan size! Before ordering any fan, be sure to measure, check, and then triple check your compartment to make sure it will fit! Please download the Fan Specifications sheet for all specs, including fan sizes with and without the different Wheel options. If you do not find the dimensions you need, or they are very close to your tolerances, please call or email us.
